Day 3: Rebuild & Realign
The Most Important Notes:
Always double cleanse. The first cleanse is essential for the visible dirt – makeup, sweat, oil. The second cleanse is for what’s unseen to the naked eye – buildup, photoreactivity, oxidative stress.
This is not medical advice or a substitute for medical visits. Please seek medical attention in case of an emergency. Consult with a medical professional before starting new activity, nutritional supplements or introducing new dietary restrictions.
Hormone levels are not the same for everyone and you should always seek a medical professional if you experience hormone levels, stress levels, or menstrual cycle fluctuations that are not typical or do not reflect average results.
If you have allergies or sensitivities to any foods, ingredients, or products, do not adopt those suggestions in this plan. Please skip the step or find safe alternatives that are suitable for you.
Day 3 of the cycle. Estrogen continues to rise slowly, and I start feeling a slight shift in energy, mood, and mental clarity. Still menstruating, so nourishment and gentleness remain essential, but there’s more room for light movement and early skin renewal.
Day 3 – Rebuild & Realign
Cycle Phase: Menstrual Phase
Morning Note: Estrogen continues to rise slowly today, and I'm starting to feel a slight shift in my energy, mood, and mental clarity. I'm still menstruating, so nourishment and gentleness remain essential, but there's more room for light movement and early skin renewal. My skin feels slightly more balanced and my energy is gradually returning. I'm focusing today on supporting my body's rebuilding process — nutritionally, emotionally, and physically — and laying the foundation for the strength that's coming in the follicular phase.
Morning Skincare Routine: Hydrate + Gently Brighten
Cleanser: Double cleansed, starting with a foaming cleanser then a hydrating cleanser. (I used: TULA Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser, Shani Darden Cleansing Serum)
Toner: Used a soothing, hydrating toner with rose extract. (I used: Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner)
Serum: Used a gentle radiance serum for brightening and hydration. (I used: Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum Vitamin C Alternative)
Moisturizer: Used a nourishing lightweight oil-free cream. (I used: Shani Darden Weightless Oil-Free Moisturizer)
SPF: Wore a broad-spectrum mineral SPF, especially since I'm getting more light exposure — mineral sunscreen with zinc oxide is my cleanest option. (I used: Innisfree Daily UV Mineral Sunscreen SPF 45)
Skin Insight: Noticed a little dullness and uneven tone today, so I began reintroducing Vinoperfect as a a gentle vitamin C alternative.
Evening Skincare Routine: Support Cellular Repair
Cleanser: Used an oil-based double cleanser to combat buildup from wearing makeup multiple days in a row. (I used: Babor HY-OL Cleanser & Phyto HY-OL Booster Hydrating Set)
Toner: Used an alcohol-free, balancing toner. (I used: Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner)
Serum: Used a nourishing serum for recovery and tone balancing. (I used: Shani Darden Moisture Boost Plumping Serum)
Moisturizer: Used a hydrating night cream with barrier-repairing and soothing ingredients like niacinamide to calm inflammation (I used: Shani Darden Hydration Peptide Cream)
Self-Care Notes: Did a facial massage with gua sha to boost lymphatic drainage.
Nutrition for Hormone Support + Pregnancy Readiness
Focus: Rebuild blood, promote skin regeneration, and support liver detox.
Key Nutrients: Iron, vitamin C, zinc, omega-3s, and antioxidants.
Meal Suggestions:
Breakfast: Chia seed pudding with almond milk, cinnamon, and sliced bananas.
Lunch: Grilled wild-caught salmon with quinoa and steamed asparagus.
Snack: Pumpkin seeds with dark chocolate and fresh orange slices.
Dinner: Grass-fed beef and beets on whole grain crackers.
Hydration: High quality intake → Water, Dandelion root tea, lemon water, and herbal mineral blends.
Make It Make Sense: I pair iron-rich foods with vitamin C sources, like citrus or bell peppers, to increase absorption.
Movement & Activity
Energy Level: Slightly higher, but still fluctuating.
Ideal Activities:
Low-impact barre/bodyweight sculpt
Long walk outdoors
Gentle vinyasa yoga flow
Today's Practice: Did a yoga flow. Spent time in natural sunlight to support my vitamin D levels and lift my mood.
Sleep & Recovery
Bedtime Wind-down:
Dim lights 1–2 hours before bed
Guided sleep practice
Room temperature between 68–70°F
Goal: A consistent bedtime and uninterrupted sleep — supporting hormone balance and mental clarity.
