Day 5: Reset & Renew

The Most Important Notes:

  1. Always double cleanse. The first cleanse is essential for the visible dirt – makeup, sweat, oil. The second cleanse is for what’s unseen to the naked eye – buildup, photoreactivity, oxidative stress.

  2. This is not medical advice or a substitute for medical visits. Please seek medical attention in case of an emergency. Consult with a medical professional before starting new activity, nutritional supplements or introducing new dietary restrictions.

  3. Hormone levels are not the same for everyone and you should always seek a medical professional if you experience hormone levels, stress levels, or menstrual cycle fluctuations that are not typical or do not reflect average results.

  4. If you have allergies or sensitivities to any foods, ingredients, or products, do not adopt those suggestions in this plan. Please skip the step or find safe alternatives that are suitable for you.

On Day 5, my energy, focus, and mood feel significantly more optimistic. My body is craving movement and creativity.

Day 5 – Reset & Renew

Cycle Phase: Follicular Phase (Day 5)
Morning Note: This is the first official day of my follicular phase — my bleeding has tapered down, and I can feel the shift. My energy, focus, and mood feel significantly more optimistic, and my body is craving movement. I think of today as a clean slate: my body is preparing for ovulation by increasing estrogen production, which benefits my skin, brain, metabolism, and mood. My skin is starting to look more radiant and resilient, and less prone to irritation. This feels like a great day to refine my routines and gently elevate my activity.

Morning Skincare Routine: Brighten + Protect

  1. Cleanser: Used a balancing gel cleanser. (I used: [add product])

  2. Toner: Used a vitamin C-infused, antioxidant-rich toner with green tea and licorice root. (I used: [add product])

  3. Serum: Used a brightening serum with niacinamide. (I used: [add product])

  4. Moisturizer: Used a light cream with squalane and ceramides. (I used: [add product])

  5. SPF: Mineral SPF with added antioxidants if possible.

Skin Insight: My skin felt smoother and less reactive to the lactic acid serum.

Evening Skincare Routine: Renew + Glow

  1. Cleanser: Used a gentle cleanser to remove buildup and SPF. (I used: [add product])

  2. Toner: Used an alcohol-free toner with mild exfoliating properties (PHA). (I used: [add product])

  3. Serum: Used a low-dose bakuchiol serum as a gentle retinol alternative, since my skin tolerated it well. (I used: [add product])

  4. Moisturizer: Used a cream with ceramides and nourishing botanical oils. (I used: [add product])

Self-Care Notes: Did a lymphatic drainage massage.

Movement & Activity

  • Energy Level: Increasing, more stable and creative.

  • Suggested Activities:

    • Power yoga or low-impact HIIT

    • Nature hikes or long walks

    • Dance workouts or cycling

Today's Practice: Got 20 minutes of morning sun and added a walking meditation for mental clarity.

Sleep & Recovery

  • Bedtime Wind-down::

    • Limited stimulants (like caffeine) after 2 PM

    • Spent 10–15 minutes journaling and visualizing tomorrow's goals

    • Sipped a calming herbal tea (passionflower)

  • Goal: Sleep may naturally become lighter this phase, but it's still crucial for cellular regeneration and hormone balance.
