Starting a prevention routine before I actually needed it

Second trimester is when everyone told me to start a stretch mark routine, right as our body is already changing fast enough that it always felt a little late to actually prevent anything.

What was actually going on

I'd read enough to know prevention is mostly genetic anyway, but I still wanted to do something proactive rather than just hoping for the best, even knowing the science on topical prevention is mixed at best.

Where this came in

Picked up a two-step bundle specifically because it gave me an actual routine to follow rather than guessing at a single product. The cream plus oil, using morning and night, was something concrete I could do with uncertainty.

What it actually does (for me, not in general)

Whether it actually prevented anything is impossible for me to know for certain. Genetics do a lot of the real work here. What it did reliably was give my skin consistent hydration through a stretch where that mattered regardless of the prevention claim.

The honest trade-offs

Stretch mark prevention products can't override genetics. My skin is less saggy and not only looks but feels more hydrated in myy postpartum period, so I'd buy this for the hydration and the routine. This is not a guarantee, because no topical product can honestly promise that.

How it fits into the actual routine

Morning and night, starting immediately after a positive pregnancy test, I ordered. I applied it to my belly and hips twice daily.

Worth it?

Yes, for the hydration and the routine itself. Keep expectations about actual prevention realistic going in.
